Been a lot of moves for us in the last few days. Most in which I can get on board with..... But Keenan Allen to the Bears. My heart is broken... He has been the safety blanket for as long as I have been a fan.... Please fellas - make this pain go away.... What's your best Keenan Allen memory? On or off the field.... Anyway - hope he mends well and comes back firing next season. But.... It's Stick time.... They must like something about this kid to keep him there for i think 5 seasons now. He made some good throws in the 2nd half in what must have felt like being a 'deer in headlights' to him. I'm keen to see what the boy can do over the next few weeks with some consistent reps with the #1 squad. The season is over so let's just enjoy this story line for now and see if Stick Boy can win some games.... Do you all think he can step up and put some 'W's' on the board???

Our boy Herbert is defiantely in a lean patch right now - but I think we are not really considering all the factors contributing to his performance. We are again, short in key positions. Our receiving core is short staffed and we are leaning on players who either don't have the experience or simply aren't elite players. Guyton has come off a large injury - nowhere near his best. Ekeler has struggled since coming back from injury. Keenan obviously still killing it but also carrying some niggles. Herbert simply doesn't have the tools to 'excel' at the moment. Bottom line is - Herbert has been hitting players on the chest still - they just aren't making the catches. That Parham one today stalled our momentum. The one from Q the other week killed us and then Keenan's drop in the EndZone aswell. And I think both ourselves and the media are really underestimating the loss of Mike Williams. Mike just made those 50/50 catches all the time. He is an absolute ELITE WR with freakishly gifted awareness and athleticness. We need to stop comparing Q to Mike and let him develop. Lets put the pitch forks away and get behind this guy - he might turn into the player we drafted. I'm with you Quentin - breathe and it'll come. Anyway - my question - Who the hell is Alex Erickson?

Justin Herbert - 27/40 - 323 yards and 4 TD passes. We obviously won right? Fellas? We won right? Surely???? But what a game to watch.. Entertainment at its finest. All out offensive football. As for the defence, neither team could cover my 90 year old grandma with a walking frame... Has me thinking - what is the best "game" or stat line that you remember from a Chargers QB in a loss? My golly gosh... So glad we took the win... Maybe my post last week was a week early.. You know, the one where I made a prediction on a win over KC and a breakout game for Derwin and Quentin.. Both these guys looked better this week... Herbert - enough said. Way to silence the media my man. Can't believe the way they have come for him over the past 2 weeks. 2 bad games and they are talking about him like he is Derek Fucking Carr. Anyway - how great is it to have a reliable kicker? Do you think this is more a reflection on the quality of our receiving core or do you think maybe Quentin hasn't progressed enough in our offence yet? K9 had some DAWG in him on Sunday. Not a faultless performance - but perhaps the best he has played in the powder blue. Tuli. Found his feet this week and I'd expect him to become a large part of this defence in the years to come. Looked good on the edge and gave some serious pressure..... Loved it... But excitingly - Derius Davis man... He just looks like he is about to break the game open on every return. Not any thing huge this time around but it is coming....... I can feel it... My question is - Can we do this? Are we still a playoff caliber team? Can you see it coming together? I just get this horrible feeling that it's going to be another season with a talented roster that amounts to nothing. Tell me it's going to be OK. Hold me. Cuddle me... Please... Just please tell me it's going to be alright.....

Fellas..... Feeling shattered.... But it's week 1.... We lost to a team that in my opinion will be greatly improved this season... Tua is the real deal - he is hard to dislike... 466 yards - wow. But this post is purely to throw some support around JC Jackson... I'm sure the this weeks Ask BoltFam may have some negative comments about JC... But I just want everyone to take it Easy on JC. He was injured on the 24th of October last year with a FULL rupture of the patellar tendon... We've all heard the unlikelyness of return to play after this injury, let alone ever getting back to the same level.. There is no doubt JC was average on Sunday - he was made to look pretty poor... But - this was Tyreek Hill man... We've seen that guy many times before and there are no corners in the game who can lock him down.. The bloke is an absolute freak.. It's not like he was getting beaten by Phillip Dorsett or Hunter Renfrow... It was Tyreek bloody Hill! He made a big blunder on the intercept by not going down in the End Zone, and it really cost us - the pussy porpoises made us pay pretty much instantly... But.... Put yourself inside his head in that moment - he suffered a likely career ending injury 10 and a half months ago. He has put blood, sweat, tears into this return... No one has worked harder than JC to get back on the field... This man has $40 million in guaranteed money - he could have just cruised through rehab and slept each night on a bed of $100 bills... But no - not JC... So I can forgive him for thinking a little unclear in that moment... He takes a INT and after what he has been through - I have no doubt that the mind was a bit foggy and the brain maybe not computing things properly and quite simply, the emotions of the last 10 and a half months would have hit him hard.. Anyway - I'm just saying - I'm with JC and I look forward to watching the rest of this comeback... You've already done the Bolt Gang proud mate and I'm certain, that we will see the best of you - your desire will shine through and the organisation and us fans will be rewarded.. Also - I know it's a loss - but how good is having football back... What was your favourite non-charger moment of week 1? (and you can't all say the Chiefs losing hahaha)

Ok - I'm going to get this off my chest early in this post. 27 - 0. Run the damn ball. We have a couple of brilliant nut truckers so run it. Instead - we spend the whole 2nd half snapping the ball with 10-15 secs left on the play clock. Run it. Damn. Anyway - let's get to the good stuff. As much as everything hurts right now and will take me a long, long, long time to get over this, we had some shining lights this season. Herbert - 3 years in and he is without a doubt the stud we know he is. We have ourselves a franchise QB. Ekeler - Man oh man is this guy good. He is the whole package. JK - He has emerged, and to think, we haven't even see Spiller really. We will have a choice to make in a few years time and damn it will be good. Michael Davis - This guy can ball. Zont - He was a steal in the draft. Love everything about him. Van-Noy - Stud. Just a leader and a stud. D-line - Much improved, we can indeed stop the run and we should only get stronger here. Salyer - Way to get in there replacing one of the best in the game and do a bloody job. This guy is gonna be great. And of course - the team at the Charger Chat. Man I look forward to your episodes dropping each week - they get me through those long days at work or those gruelling gym sessions. Anyway - let's say, next year, we are in the Superbowl - tell me why? What changes will we make that will get us there?

D-Line obviously was great with guys stepping up into the void left by the big bear. They went off like a frog in a sock. Slayer also doing a phenomenal job for a rookie. But can we just take a minute and send the big guy Trey Pipkens some love?!? Cops a lot of heat, but thought he was great against the Texans. Ekeler snapped off some great runs on his side on Sunday, and a couple of Pipkens "sealing" blocks lead to touchdowns. Much improved performance. What were his QB pressure stats for this game? An early morning today to get up and watch our Chargers get blown out by the Jags. Right from the start i just had bad vibes. We just never seemed to be in it or interested. The only thing I'll blame the staff for is playing Herbie. He is our long term franchise QB and to play him when we are 1-1 at the start of a long season seems kind of silly. Am I happy? No... Did I enjoy the game? No. Am I still positive about the season? Fucking hell Yeah! These fellas will bounce back. We were missing some absolute key players today - Linsley out is HUGE! J.C. Jackson missing - absolutely massive. Amazing pass blocker and the leader of the line. J.C. Jackson missing - absolutely massive! Then a few others going down, including Slater and Bosa. The Bosa loss nullified a lot of our pass rush.. We never looked deadly with the d-line today. A couple had flashes but nothing sustained. But geeeez.... Keenan being out is such a huge loss... He is just so key as that safety blanket for Herbert when needed... Will be nice to see him back against the Texans making big plays. Just wanted to say - everyone needs to calm down - we will be OK! So unbelievably pumped for the new season. Feels like it's been years since the heartbreaking OT loss to the dirty Raiders. My question to you is about the run Defense. Last season, our run defence was about as secure as a wet paper bag - obviously ranking 32nd. I keep having flashbacks to the Browns game with Nick Chubb running the ball down our throats. Some obvious key signings in this have been made - Sebastian-Day, Mack, Van-Noy, Reeder etc. Are these names big enough and good enough to actually turn us into a top 10 run Defense???
